The day before trick-or-treaters collect free candy, Taco Bell is handing out free tacos.
The fast-food chain is giving away free Doritos Locos tacos with its “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” World Series promotion.
Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner, this year’s Taco Hero, prompted the Oct. 30 giveaway after he stole second base in the first inning of Game 1 of the series.
From 2 to 6 p.m. local time Wednesday, consumers can walk into participating restaurants nationwide to get the freebie that typically costs $1.69.
You’ll have more time to take advantage of the freebie if you order ahead for pickup.
According to Taco Bell, the free taco offer will be “valid for store pickup all redemption day via online or the mobile app” for registered users of www.tacobell.com or the Taco Bell app.
No purchase is necessary and there’s a limit of one freebie per person while supplies last, according to the promotion rules. Learn more at www.tacobell.com/stealataco.
In June during its “Steal a Game, Steal a Taco” promotion, a similar giveaway tied to the NBA finals, some consumers were unable to redeem the offer because the website and app experienced high traffic.
Earlier this month, Taco Bell voluntarily recalled 2.3 million pounds of seasoned beef, which is used in tacos and burritos, from its restaurants and distribution centers in 21 states.
